Sales Letters Persuade Prospects

Sales Letters for the Internet and Direct Mail
Many businesses that sell their products or services online make the mistake of not supporting their efforts with carefully orchestrated marketing effort.
At the backbone of any successful online marketing campaign is an artfully written, persuasive, sales letter.
Attributes of a properly written sales letter
- A sales letter should be grammatically correct. Too many sales letters are full of grammatical errors. Your prospect will be immediately turned off if he or she sees that you have not made the effort to edit and polish your communication.
- The writing should capture the readers attention with interesting copy. One mistake that many novice writers make to explain the product and service without selling it. Chances are good that your prospect knows that he or she needs your product but they are really deciding on why they should buy from you and not the other guy
- The letter must persuade. This seems simple enough, however, many sales letters make the mistake of over explaining the offer by listing benefits and features. A great sales letter will seek out the prospect's hot spot or greatest need and then persuade them that the product will satisfy this burning need.
- A great sales letter appeals to emotion. People make most of their buying decisions based on emotion rather than logic.
- Testimonials sell! Consumers are more likely to buy a product or service that is proven. Nothing demonstrates the quality of a product better than a testimonial
